PITCH FOR EXPERIENCE GUIDE FOR YSTAD/ÖSTERLEN
JRD and AppByrån in Malmö participated in a pitch to develop a new app to help people find all the fantastic possibilities in our part of the country. We were very excited about the idea – unfortunately the project went to another agency, Sagoru. Congratulations – we look forward to use the app. Please use our idea to enable people to invite friends to join them on the walk or at the theatre :-)
JACOB RAVN DESIGN FEATURED IN THE NEW BOOK ‘NORDIC GRAPHIC DESIGNERS’
Nordic Graphic Designers is the third volume in Arvinius’ series on Nordic architecture and design. The book demonstrates the diversity among graphic designers from the five Nordic countries, but also tracks a distinctly Nordic identity shared by a great variety of designers. The book serves as both an encyclopedia of contemporary expression and a catalogue of leading designers, with established titans and rising stars side by side. Scandinavian Design in the Doll’s House takes the reader through the changing trends in Scandinavian interior design, from 1950–2000.
The book captures the Nordic way of life that has influ¬enced interior design throughout the world. Childlike in some ways, perversely voyeuristic in others, this book is a must for mid-century lovers and has the potential to be a cult classic.

Some years ago some friends and I created this fashion project, where people could build their own clothes from squares of felt. Beautiful project which was later exhibited around the would as part of the exhibition “Strangely familiar: Design and everyday life” by Walker Art Center, Mineapolis, USA. The book about the exhibition is found here at amazon.

Fantastic low-tec big-scale listening device (via lorettabosence):
The ‘listening ears’ or sound mirrors at Dungeness, Kent…for spying on Jerry. Built in 1930 these lonely posts were manned by operators listening attentively for the sound of approaching enemy aircraft. An early warning system against invasion by air that would have given an extra 15 minutes to prepare, as planes could be heard up to 24 miles away.
LIGHTDESIGN FOR NYA RAMPEN
